Student Spotlight: February 2017

Ella Blackmore

Ella Blackmore is an eleven year old fifth grade student at the Indian Hill School in Holmdel, NJ. Her dance training began at age five with The Colts Neck Dance and Performing Arts Academy where she danced for three years participating in recitals and competitions in ballet, jazz, and tap routines.  As early as age nine Ella knew she wanted to become a professional dancer and decided to focus more on technique. For the next two years she attended Dance Mixx Studio where she fell in love with contemporary dance and performed with their competition team in her second year.
Even though Ella enjoyed being on stage and performing in front of an audience she knew her ballet training needed to be improved to get her to the big stage!  That is what brought her to the Monmouth Academy of Ballet to train under the direction of Miss Ellen.  Ella started in the summer of 2016 in Miss Ellen’s summer intensive program and in the fall enrolled in the 2016-2017 class program. She is being trained with the highest caliber of instruction from a highly qualified teacher, which has improved her ballet technique greatly over the past seven months. Ella is enrolled for the Royal Academy of Dance coaching classes and examination and will be participating in MAB’s Cinderella Ballet this spring. She looks forward to many more years dancing with Miss Ellen.
