MAB Code of Conduct
1. General Expectations
- Students, parents, and staff are expected to behave respectfully and professionally at all times.
- The academy promotes an inclusive and welcoming environment, free of discrimination based on race, gender, religion, or ability.
- Punctuality is essential for all classes, rehearsals, and events. Arrive at least 10 minutes early to prepare. The studio door closes promptly at the start of class. Late dancers may only enter at the discretion of the teacher.
2. Student Responsibilities
- Attendance: Regular attendance is critical to progress. Notify the academy in advance if you are unable to attend class. Make up classes in a lower level within 30 days of the missed class.
- Dress Code: Adhere to the prescribed dress code for all classes (black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes). Hair should be neatly secured in a bun or appropriate style.
- Conduct in Class:
- Show respect to instructors and peers by listening attentively and following instructions. Where a dancer repeatedly disturbs the ballet class measures will be taken to rectify the situation.
- Use class time effectively and avoid disruptions.
- Mobile telephones remain outside of the studios except for teachers to access music or with explicit permission from instructors in order to film choreography.
- Safety: Inform instructors of any injuries or conditions that may affect participation. Follow all safety guidelines.
3. Parent/Guardian Responsibilities
- Ensure your child arrives and departs on time. Late pick-ups can cause disruptions and stress for staff.
- Respect the academy’s policies, instructors, and staff decisions.
- Address concerns through scheduled meetings with the Director, Ellen Taylor. Avoid confrontations during class times.
4. Facility Use
- Treat the academy premises with care. Dispose of trash, clean up personal belongings, and respect shared spaces.
- No food or drink (except water) is allowed in dance studios.
- Parents and students must avoid using unauthorized areas of the facility.
5. Bullying and Harassment Policy
- The academy has zero tolerance for bullying, harassment, or any form of intimidation.
- Report incidents immediately to EllenTaylor ,Director and owner of Monmouth Academy of Ballet.
- Incidents will be addressed promptly and may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or dismissal from the academy.
6. Commitment to Excellence
- Students are encouraged to set goals, practice diligently, and take responsibility for their progress.
- Participation in performances requires full commitment to rehearsals and preparation.
7. Policy Violations
- The academy reserves the right to take disciplinary action for violations of this Code of Conduct, including verbal warnings, suspension, or dismissal, depending on the severity of the infraction.
By enrolling at Monmouth Academy of Ballet, students, parents, and staff agree to uphold this Code of Conduct and contribute to a positive, inspiring, and respectful community.
