Monmouth Academy of Ballet | Pre-Professional Curriculum
Our Pre-Professional Curriculum is designed for dancers who are committed to serious ballet training and aspire to reach advanced technical and artistic levels. With an emphasis on discipline, technique, and performance, this program prepares students for professional opportunities and higher-level ballet education.
Curriculum Levels:
- Piqué: Focuses on building strength, alignment, and clean technique while introducing longer class combinations.
- Plié: Develops artistry, musicality, and stamina, while reinforcing classical vocabulary and introducing barre work where appropriate.
- Chassé: Advanced technique, refined musical phrasing, and pre-professional performance coaching. Students begin demi-pointe and pointe work.
- Passé: Our most advanced level, with intensive focus on classical repertoire, advanced pointe technique, and professional performance quality.

All Pre-Professional levels are structured around the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus. Dancers are entered for RAD Exams and can audition for the winter and spring performances to experience professional ballet milestones as well as display the techniques learned in class.
