Student Spotlight: February 2021
Sasha
Monmouth Academy of Ballet’s Spotlight is shining on our ballet dancer, Sasha. She is 8 years old and in 3rd grade at Nut Swamp Elementary, and she has trained in ballet for 5 years.

How many hours of ballet class do you take each week?
I take 3-4 hours of classes a week.
How old were you when you started taking ballet classes?
I started taking dance class at 2.5 years old.

What motivated your early interest in dancing/ballet?
My mom danced and said it was fun.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to work in an aquarium.
What do you like to do when you are not dancing?
Swim team, arts and crafts, and read.
Why did you choose MAB as your dance school?
My friend Nyla was already going there and I wanted to focus on ballet.

Have you participated in MAB’s Spring Performance and/or Royal Academy of Dance examinations? What would you like to tell us about those experiences?
I participated in RAD’s examinations, it was hard but I feel good about myself after the test and I get to spend time with my friends.
What is your favorite ballet?
The Nutcracker.
Who is your favorite pop artist, composer, ballerina or danseur, and why?
My favorite artist is Bruno Mars.
